Located on the LeBaron Hills Golf Course,
the LeBaron Hills Country
Club is a 39,000 square foot private country club. The clubhouse
has a casually elegant ambiance, and was designed to match the
context of Lakeville, a rural residential town in southeastern
Massachusetts.
The clubhouse was kept to one story, and
was designed with brackets, square windows, shed dormers, and
thoughtful trim to define the façade and keep the building
rooted in a residential context.
The floor plan was kept open, and lighter
colored finishes were used throughout the interior. Expansive
windows were used throughout the clubhouse to allow for maximum
natural light to flow into the building, as well as to provide
visual access to the golf course. The golf pro shop tower serves
as the focal point of the golf course elevation. A clerestory
over the members lobby breaks up the mass of the building,
and allows for generous amounts of natural light to pour into
the area. The restaurant and banquet rooms are arranged in a
grand symmetrical massing that alludes to the more formal atmosphere
of the rooms, and are visually accented by a centrally located
fireplace with a stone chimney. The cocktail lounge, which is
situated between the restaurant and golf pro shop, serves as
a transition between the two areas. With three walls of windows,
the lounge has a panoramic view
of the golf course.
Separated by a Health and Wellness Center,
the mens and womens locker rooms, comprise two walls
of the outdoor pool area. The pool is anchored by a detached
building that houses a snack bar and a tennis pro-shop.
