Robert J. Verrier
AIA, NCARB
Vice President & Managing Principal
Bob Verrier is Vice President, Managing Principal, and co-founder of The Architectural Team, Inc., and has more than 38 years professional experience in design and construction management. Bob's work has been a hallmark of the firm's practice since its inception. Under his direction, The Architectural Team has built a solid foundation of "lifetime" clients, enabling the firm to grow from a team of four professionals to more than 50 strong. Because the firm has built more than 45,000 units of housing, Bob's diverse expertise is often sought in areas beyond traditional design services, particularly real estate development, where he is revered for his understanding of HUD, MassHousing, and other agency financing programs. He is an exemplary leader in historic preservation and adaptive reuse, having designed dozens of award-winning certified historic buildings. Among many distinctions, Bob was personally honored by President Ronald Reagan with a National Historic Preservation Award for the preservation and adaptive reuse of the Baker Chocolate Factory in Dorchester Lower Mills, MA. In 2000, Bob was invited to author a chapter for the RS Means' book, "Historic Preservation Project Planning & Estimating." The book was the first of its kind published by RS Means, and serves as a guide for contractors, architects and other building industry professionals. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Boston Society of Architects, Boston Preservation Alliance, National Trust for Historic Preservations, Massachusetts Charitable Mechanics Association, and currently serves as Vice President of the Alumni Board for Boston Architectural College. In 2007, Bob was honored with the Boston Architectural College "Alumni in Practice" Award-- an acknowledgement of his contributions and achievements in the areas of design and construction, and his life-work commitment to making the world a better place in which to work, live, learn and grow.
